Zimbabwe

with Wilderness Safaris

The Zimbabwe Classic

Your safari begins in Victoria Falls where you can follow in Dr Livingstone’s footsteps and discover the stunning Falls themselves. There is also time to walk around the town’s markets and to take a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Stay at the Grand Dame of the Falls, the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel with its stunning views over the bridge to Zambia and the spray of the Falls.

From the Falls you fly south to the incredible Hwange National Park. There is so much to see in this park. From your glamorous camp, on its private concession, you can go for great nature walks with your Ranger and also head out on spotlighting drives looking for elephant, hyaenas, leopards, porcupine and spring hares – all out and about at night time. During the day there are areas of the Park that get wonderful sable and eland antelope on palm-dotted plains, plus there are very good lion populations here and if you are very lucky you might find the endangered painted dogs.

From Hwange you will fly north, over Lake Kariba, to Mana Pools National Park. Mana is known for being full of wildlife, right on the Zambezi River and with wonderful views across to the blue mountains of Zambia. Your luxury safari camp is on a private concession and is well known for the quality of its Rangers, the adventure-full game drives, the chance to canoe the mighty Zambezi, fish for the fighting Tiger fish and of course to get out and walk with your armed Ranger and learn not only about the wildlife but the trees, birds and whole eco-system. Elephants, buffalo, and waterbuck come down to the shoreline to drink and of course the birdlife here is wonderful. All camps and hotels have a high level of service and cuisine to match the quality of guiding and wildlife.
