Victoria Falls safari
Zambezi Sands is situated within the western part of the Zambezi National Park along the banks of the mighty Zambezi River upstream from Victoria Falls. Just 45 minutes by road or by river cruise from the Falls, the many channels and islands in this part of the river are perfect for canoe and walking explorations. Accommodation is in 8 luxury Bedouin style tents, each facing the river with private decks and plunge pools.
Game drives and walks are also possible in the Zambezi National Park along with all the traditional Falls activities. You can even explore the Zambezi River by inflatable canoe or motorized boat. However, relaxing in your private deck splash pool – whilst overlooking the Zambezi – is perhaps just as enjoyable.
Elephant can be found loitering on the mainland or in the river, while hippo, waterbuck and bushbuck frequent the reed banks and islands. Lions can be heard calling at night and the birdlife is prolific ‐ African finfoot, African skimmer and Pel’s fishing owl all occur here.
If you wish to explore Victoria Falls town a complimentary shuttle is included in your stay and there are a smorgasbord of activities on offer (at additional cost) including a guided tour of the Falls, river cruises, white water rafting, bungee jumping – or maybe just some relaxed souvenir shopping.
