Tongabezi Lodge is a stunning hideaway on the banks of the Zambezi River just upstream from Victoria Falls. Privately owned and run, Tongabezi combines an exclusive ambience with the legendary warmth and hospitality of the people of Zambia.
The lodge offers a selection of six stylish houses and five river cottages, each beautifully decorated with furniture and embellishments from all over Africa. You can choose to dine on your private terrace or beside the river in the central dining, lounge and bar area. There is a pool and a ‘Lookout’ that provides the ultimate chill out zone where you can simply take a deep breath and enjoy the expansive views across the Zambezi.
There is no set pattern to days at Tongabezi. You can do as much or as little as you wish, with game drives, bush walks and boating trips all included in your stay. Trips to the Livingstone & Railway Museums and a nearby African village are also offered. Other activities available at extra cost include white water rafting, river surfing, bungee jumping, abseiling, parachuting, microlight and helicopter flights over the Falls, horse riding, clay-pigeon shooting, canoeing plus golf. The Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe is just across the river, and lion calls can often be heard at night. Hippo are regularly seen (and heard) along the river’s edge and the bird watching is superb.
