Thorntree River Lodge is set in Zambia’s Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, just a short distance from the famous Victoria Falls. Built with an environmentally-conscious design, it is contemporary with state of the art technology, yet draws on local customs and culture to maintain African authenticity.
The lodge comprises 8 twin rooms and 2 family units, all with both indoor and outdoor bathrooms and a luxurious private plunge pool. The main lodge offers a comfortable lounge and an open dining area complete with a temperature controlled wine cellar stocked with fine wines as well as a small library, gym and spa. The communal wooden deck, home to a sunken boma area and stunning infinity pool, floats partly on the edge of the Zambezi River. Moving with the water level it creates the illusion of sailing on a boat and offers the peaceful tranquility only found whilst resting by slow moving water.
A visit to the mighty Victoria Falls is a must while you are here and privately guided tours of the magnificent ’smoke that thunders’ can be arranged. A diverse range of additional activities are also available including rhino trekking on foot, game drives in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, sunset river cruises, cultural visits, fishing, visits to the Livingstone Museum and more.
