Skybeds is not your typical safari camp. Hidden deep within Botswana’s Khwai Private Reserve, this experience is for travellers seeking raw, untamed connection to the wilderness. Offering just three elevated platforms, each standing over four metres high, Skybeds allows guests to sleep under a canopy of stars with no barriers between you and the African night.
Each platform features a plush bed dressed in crisp linens, a private flushing toilet, and a hot bucket shower just behind the sleeping area. Despite the simplicity, the experience is surprisingly luxurious, blending safari comfort with a profound sense of immersion. As the sun dips below the horizon, enjoy a lantern-lit dinner before climbing up to your Skybed, where the sounds of the bush become your lullaby.
Wildlife is ever-present here; elephants, lions, leopards, and wild dogs are frequent visitors, drawn to the nearby waterhole. In the early morning, you’ll wake with the rising sun and panoramic views across the vast plains. Game drives in the surrounding reserve ensure even more close encounters with Botswana’s rich wildlife.
