Faru Faru

Grumeti Reserve, Tanzania

Safari chic cottage

Grumeti Private Reserve is located adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, bordering the national park, and encompasses 340,000 acres of unrivalled wilderness. The area forms part of the famous migratory route, which is travelled by hundreds of thousands of animals every year.

Faru Faru Lodge is built on a gently sloping hill, overlooking a waterhole and the Grumeti River. It is built in the style of a classic East African safari camp, with the suites and lodge areas decorated as a throwback to the timeless Colonial era. Each of the six air-conditioned suites feature a picture window and deck, with your own Swarovski spotting scope.  The lodge area offers a lounge and dining room, elevated viewing decks, heated plunge pool, spa and Colonial Trading Post boutique

Walks from Faru Faru along the Grumeti River, with its unrivalled spectrum of fauna and flora, are an unforgettable experience. The professionally guided activities include game drives in open vehicles, walks, night drives, and mountain biking. The camp offers you access to an equestrian centre at the main camp, Sasakwa, which includes a walled riding track for beginners, while those with more experience can enjoy outrides onto the Serengeti plains.

Other activities available include badminton, lawn croquet and swimming in the heated plunge pool. If you prefer complete relaxation, the spa features 2 therapy rooms for a variety of treatments, many of which can also be enjoyed in the privacy of your own tent.
