Within the world’s largest tropical rainforest, the Amazon, sits the expansive Sacha Lodge.
The lodgings at Sacha have been carefully designed to offer comfort and to preserve the environment and rainforest ambience. All of the cabins, with high thatched roofs and private shaded terraces, are constructed of traditional materials and are well concealed in the lush surroundings. Each of the twenty-six rooms is screened against insects and each cabin has hammocks overlooking the jungle where you can relax between activities and, with luck, see the resident toucans, agoutis and monkeys.
At Sacha Lodge the Amazon is at your feet when you walk high along a 900-foot canopy and climb the 135-foot observation tower. Jungle adventure doesn’t get more exciting than this! Unforgettable experiences include visiting one of Ecuador’s largest butterfly farms and a canoe ride downriver to the Yasuni Clay Lick to witness dozens of parrots. Take a break from the hot Amazon sun with a refreshing swim in the lake or spend the afternoon along the river fishing for piranha. For thrill seekers, there is nothing like flying through the forest on a zip-line and the truly adventurous can take night walks and canoe rides to observe the mysterious nocturnal life of the Amazon.
