Birders Paradise

Chhatra Sagar, part of the RAAS group,  is located right on the edge of a 100-year-old dam which is teeming with birds in the heart of rural Rajasthan, 110km east of Jodhpur, near the village of Nimaj in the district of Pali, Rajasthan.

The east facing hand-stitched tents are perched overlooking the dam where the only sound is a birds song.

The 13 luxury en-suite tents are furnished with locally crafted furniture and fabrics, with the star attraction being the beautiful hand painted floors in a traditional henna design. Each tent also has a private sitting area at the front with wicker chairs looking out over the water.

This 1920s style camp also has an open-sided reception, comfortable sitting area and an air-conditioned, glass-walled library and bar space.

The food is widely considered to be the best Rajasthani home cooking in the state and alfresco dinners take place under an incredible canopy of stars.

Chhatra Sagar is an idyllic spot to take a breather from the Rajasthan city pace.
