Potato Bush Camp, the sister camp to Sausage TreeCamp, is situated further down stream on the Zambezi Riverand is nestled under Mahogany, Sausage, Winter Thorn and Acacia Tortillas Trees, all providing ample shade from the beaming African sun. The camp has stunning panoramic views over the Zambezi River and escarpment making an idyllic spot for relaxation.
The camp offers some of the finest game viewing in natural habitats anywhere on the continent. The wildlife is prolific with huge herds of elephant & buffalo, a range of plains game including zebra and wildebeest along with their predators – lion, leopard and wild dog. The birdlife too, is rich and rewarding with over 300 species including fish eagles, herons and kingfishers.
The Lower Zambezi is renowned for its spectacular canoeing and boating. Until the Zambezi River is explored by boat, it is impossible to truly appreciate the huge hippopotami pods and crocodile populations. Game drives are the most reliable and successful way to see a good variety of wildlife, both large and small and walking is the perfect way to search for the smaller creatures. Whatever your chosen activity you will be led by professional guides and National Parks Wildlife Officers. The camp has two game viewing vehicles and two boats and offers guided game-drives and fishing.
There are four tents within Potato Bush – three standard and one family, all shaded by large mahogany, sausage winter thorn and acacia trees. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom, large deck, private plunge pool and indoor and outdoor shower. There is a large open plan living and dining area.
