Pom Pom

Okavango Delta, Botswana

Private Island Escape

The Okavango Delta is one of the last remaining unspoiled wilderness areas in Africa. The Delta is fed by the floodwaters of Central Africa and covers an area of some 16,000 square kilometers. These waters fan out into the Okavango Delta forming a wetland system of beautiful palm‐fringed channels, lagoons and islands that support a wealth of fauna and flora alike.

The Camp is located on Pom Pom Island in a private concession situated in the heart of the Delta and on the head waters of the Xudum river system. The area lies on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve and offers superb Okavango scenery and a true Okavango wilderness experience.

Nine traditional safari style, luxury en suite tents are uniquely positioned under the shade of the surrounding trees Pom Pom lagoon. The main lounge and dining area are under thatch and the bar overlooks the swimming pool ‐ the perfect location to enjoy a relaxing afternoon during the heat of the day.

In the company of a professional poler, with vast experience of the Delta, you will be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of this unique habitat and learn about the waterways and wildlife on a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) trip.

Fishing is also possible at Pom Pom, and your guides will be happy to take you to their secret spots to try for Pike and a variety of Bream species.

Pom Pom is also able to offer guided walks and morning and evening game drives within their private concession area.
