Migration Camp

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Witness Nature’s Greatest Show with Olakira Migration Camp

‘Olakira’ means ‘star’ in Masai and with its sister camp, Sayari, on the Mara River, they cover the best areas of the vast Serengeti National Park.

Olakira Camp moves through the southern and northern Serengeti, in areas of great wildlife concentration. From December to March, the camp is in the southern Serengeti, or Ndutu area. Here are the famous Serengeti plains – endless grasslands where lion and cheetah find perfect hunting grounds and where the Great Migration takes over the plains to give birth to the next generation. The camp follows the migration path from June to November up to the Mara River – in the Northern Serengeti.

An intimate tented camp Olakira Camp hosts 16 guests in spacious mobile tents. Each tent has its own private verandah with an amazing view overlooking the Serengeti plains. The bathrooms are extremely comfortable for a mobile safari camp, with bucket shower and an environmentally friendly loo.

The Serengeti is renowned for fabulous wildlife viewing – on short trips or full day explorations you will have close encounters with an astonishing number of animals.

Whether the camp is on the Mara River or the southern plains of Ndutu, the aim is to get you as close into the thick of the action as possible.

Guest watching elephants roam through camp from a respectful distance.
