Nyungwe House

Nyungwe National Park, Rwanda

Primates & Plantation

In Southwest Rwanda, just south of Lake Kivu on the Burundi border, One&Only Nyungwe House is set amongst the rich tea‐plantations of Gisakura, on the edge of the iconic Nyungwe National Park. The park itself covers approximately 1020 km² of rainforest, bamboo, grassland, swamps and bogs, and is one of the last mountain rainforest habitats on the planet.

Nyungwe House consists of 24 luxury rooms all with views of the lush green forest canopy. All of the rooms feature private decks to make the most of the views, a fireplace to ward off the cool evenings, en‐suite bathroom with indoor shower and deep baths, and air conditioning to help you keep cool in the heat of the day.

The lodge also has an outdoor‐heated swimming pool with fantastic views of the forest, a relaxation retreat with two treatment rooms providing various massages and spa‐treatments and a fitness centre. The boma in the main lodge invites you to enjoy alfresco drinks or dining with breathtaking panoramic view.

Offering a selection of activities from 1 to 7 hour guided walks to exotic bird watching in the jungle or local culture walks. You can trek though the lush jungle and spot the chimpanzee, Black & White Colobus Monkey and Grey‐cheeked Mangabey as they swing from tree to tree. Go for a scenic walk to visit the spectacular Kamiranzovu waterfall or take it a step further and wander through the nearby swamp.

Nyungwe House is a haven of creature-comforts where the wild secrets of nature come to life before your eyes.
