Mpala Jena

Zambezi National Park - Zimbabwe

Victoria Falls in safari style

Mpala Jena Camp is an exquisite tented camp, located in a private concession within Zambezi National Park overlooking a beautiful stretch of Zambezi River. Mpala Jena means “white impala” and the name was born after an albino impala was frequently spotted in the area in 1979 when the Zambezi National Park was created and separated from Victoria Falls National Park.

The camp’s four luxurious guest tents are set under elegant canvas, with open (yet netted) views of the river. Decking in front of the tent leads to a private plunge pool with views of the flowing waters. The décor is rustic yet stylish with exposed timber, luxurious linens, immense Zanzibar style doors and curved stone walls evoking the Great Zimbabwe ruins. Built using recycled hardwoods and run entirely on solar power, Mpala Jena Camp is one of the most environmentally innovative camps in Zambezi National Park.

Zambezi National Park boasts a healthy population of wildlife including buffalo, elephant and lion, as well as excellent bird‐watching, particularly between November and April. Early morning and afternoon game viewing is conducted in private open 4×4 vehicles and guided walks offer an unmissable wildlife experience. Guests will enjoy a visit to Victoria falls (16km away) and boat-based activities on the Zambezi River are highly recommended (seasonal).

Offering easy access to Victoria Falls, yet set in a wild bush habitat, Mpala Jena allows guests to witness the magic of the Falls whilst remaining immersed in a relaxed safari atmosphere.
