Set within the remote wilderness of Mana Pools National Park, Mana River Camp offers a classic tented safari experience in one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife areas. This small seasonal camp comprises just six spacious Meru-style tents, each equipped with en suite bathrooms and thoughtfully positioned to take in uninterrupted views of the Zambezi River. The river is a magnet for wildlife, and it’s not uncommon for elephants to pass directly through camp, adding a remarkable sense of immersion.
Days at Mana River Camp unfold at a gentle rhythm, in sync with the natural world. Guided walks offer an up-close encounter with the park’s rich biodiversity, from elegant antelope to big cats, all under the expert eye of seasoned guides. Canoe safaris are a particular highlight, gliding silently along the river past pods of hippos, basking crocodiles, and wading birdlife. Game drives and riverbank sundowners round out each day’s adventure.
The camp’s main area is open and inviting, blending canvas and wood under a large thatched roof. Guests can relax here between activities, enjoying hearty meals, fireside stories, and the soothing sounds of the Zambezi. The atmosphere is unfussy yet deeply comfortable, encouraging a slow, meaningful engagement with nature.
