Lango Lodge

Odzala-Kokoua National Park, Republic of Congo

Jungle treehouse

Located in the remote north of the Republic of Congo, within the Odzala-Kokoua National Park, Lango Lodge sits on the edge of the savannah, with easy access to both the Lekoli and Mambili Rivers.

Each of the six creatively designed guest rooms is inspired by the traditional architecture of the local B’Aka Pygmy communities. Elevated three to four metres above the ground, they offer views over part of the bai and the surrounding gallery forest. Floating wooden walkways connect the rooms to the central lodge area, which is built using natural, locally sourced materials such as sustainably harvested timber, bamboo, and raffia palm thatch woven by local communities. A sunken deck with a star-gazing platform and fire pit overlooks the bai—an ideal spot for after-dinner relaxation.

Excursions from Lango are designed to showcase a wide variety of habitats, wildlife, and experiences for full immersion in the richness of the rainforest. Activities include walking and boating—combined with some game drives—in search of forest species such as forest buffalo, forest elephant, sitatunga, and harnessed bushbuck, as well as primates like guereza colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, and putty-nosed monkey.

Lango Lodge offers a genuine wilderness experience, set deep in the gallery forest with sweeping views over the vibrant Lango Bai.
