The picturesque state of Nagaland is bound by Assam in the west; Myanmar in the east; Arunachal Pradesh in the north and Manipur in the south, forming a part of what are known as the Seven Sisters, the seven states of north-east India, full of rolling hills and verdant rain forests. Located in the northeastern state of exotic Nagaland, The Ultimate Travelling Camp has introduced Kohima Camp.
Kohima Camp is set up solely for the ten-day Hornbill Festival, and provides the opportunity to explore the Land of the Nagas and its rich tribal heritage, whilst staying in supreme comfort under canvas.
A small number of individually designed tents are built with en-suite bathrooms, furnished with four poster beds dressed in crisp linen and serviced by personal butlers. Each has a private sit-out that overlooks scenic mountain vistas.
The Naga people, made up of 16 proud tribes, were once fearsome warriors and head hunters who have retained much of their traditional and cultural heritage, visible in their elaborate costumes and ritualistic headdresses which incorporate tiger tusks, bear skins, hornbill feathers and other symbolic accoutrements.
