Look out over the Gomoti River system from Gomoti Plains Camp

Gomoti Plains

Okavango Delta, Botswana

The beauty of silence

The Gomoti tree is locally known as the water fig and grows alongside the waterways of the Okavango Delta. Situated on the edge of the Gomoti river system, Gomoti Plains Camp nestles amongst these small trees, which provide excellent cover for nesting water birds such as herons and storks.

The camp is small and intimate, offering just ten luxury safari tents. Like the main areas of the lodge, the tents are spacious and comfortable, raised on wooden decks and styled to incorporate the land and water of the Okavango Delta. Meals are a sophisticated mixture of contemporary dishes and local cuisine thanks to the camp’s chefs who hail from Botswana but have been trained to international professional standards to deliver an exceptional dining experience, often under the stars.

Game drives along the river systems and flood plains are conducted in the mornings and evenings. The wildlife in the area is prolific and the chances of seeing large predators, herds of elephant and buffalo are good. Night drives are conducted in the early evening offering the unique opportunity to see the area’s elusive nocturnal inhabitants with spotlights. Walking safaris  observe the smaller details of the bush frequently missed when driving and mokoro (dug out canoe) safaris through the shallow waters are the very best way to experience the region’s beautiful birdlife.

Offering excellent game, beautiful scenery and a little adventure, Gomoti Plains offers an authentic bush experience whilst never compromising on style or comfort.
