Estancia Peuma Hue, in the Lake District of Patagonia, is in a spectacular setting, isolated on the shores of Lake Gutiérrez and backed by dramatic mountain peaks just a 35-minute drive from Bariloche.
The beautifully comfortable lodge and cabins, have huge windows to drink in the view, roaring fires and lovely quiet spots to sit and relax. The rooms are in 4 well-designed houses and are homely and extremely comfortable. The colours and textiles are natural and harmonious, with lots of slate and local weavings and rustic wooden furniture. Guests usually sit together at long tables for meals and share tales and daily adventures. Imaginative meals are served changing with the season, and most of the fruit and vegetables are grown in Peuma Hue’s organic vegetable garden.
Fabulous private trails within Puema Hue’s 500 acres lead through virgin forest to impressive waterfalls and stunning views. Horse riding is special here, with excellent horses under the loving care of the resident horse whisperer and guests can Kayak from the front door out into the lake. Bird watching in the forests around the house is a delight – you don’t need to be an expert to spot a vast array of species.
