Perched high on the Ngorongoro Crater Rim, Nomad’s Entamanu Ngorongoro is the ultimate highland retreat; somewhere to slow down and spend time discovering a unique highland environment.
The lodge sits on an extraordinary site in the sharp air of the highlands on the edge of the world’s largest unbroken caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater – Africa’s most iconic wildlife destination. In keeping with Nomad Safari’s ethos the camp is completely removable, with no concrete used in the build and living roofs to ensure it all but invisible from afar. Six beautiful, spacious wooden guest cottages all have views into the Crater, with immense Serengeti views to be enjoyed from the other side of camp. Interiors are of sustainably sourced wood and everything within the camp is locally sourced and made by talented Tanzanian artisans. Extraordinary care has been taken to ensure minimal disturbance to the environment.
There is no wildlife experience like Ngorongoro when you have a piece of it all to yourself. By day you can drive down the steep road and take in the breath taking wildlife of the Crater floor, all in the shadow of the 3000 ft high Crater walls, or visit Empakai, Olmoti, OlDonyo Lengai: legendary names and places to hike and explore, almost completely ignored due to the rock stardom of the Crate floor. Entamanu is also surrounded by the most amazing cultural experiences and you have the opportunity to wander highland villages and watch the Maasai go about their daily life.
