Cartagena, Colombia

Old town flair

Casa San Agustin is located at the heart of the historic centre within the walls of the Old Town, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1984.

Casa San Agustin is boutique luxury hotel comprised of three colonial homes dating from the 17th Century which have been lovingly restored.  These structures retain many of their key architectural elements and have been combined to create a stunning property.  The 30 beautifully crafted guestrooms and suites preserve an authentic Colombian style  while seamlessly incorporating contemporary details.  The house retains some original frescos, and many furnishings, including ironwork beds, light fixtures, chandeliers and hand painted tiles. The country’s abundance of seafood and exotic ingredients inspires the contemporary coastal Colombian cuisine of Alma, the hotel’s    signature restaurant, and its charming bar and nearby alfresco courtyard – two picturesque settings for conch, ceviche and custom-crafted cocktails.

Cartagena consists of three neighborhoods: San Pedro, with the Cathedral and many Andalusian-style palaces; San Diego, home of Casa San Agustín, the university and charming boutiques; and Getsemaní, the ‘popular quarter’ where art galleries, cafes and restaurants draw locals and visitors alike. Cartagena’s charming colonial walled Old Town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984.

A luxurious small hotel lovingly restored and reimagined for a new generation of travelers, exquisite Casa San Agustín echoes Cartagena’s fresh contemporary style and colorful Caribbean sensibility.
