Alex Walker’s Serian is an iconic safari outfit which perfectly blends the rugged heritage of safari with effortless style, unobtrusive luxury and fantastic guiding. Ngare sits in the private Mara North Conservancy meaning that whilst it hosts all of the Maasai Mara’s iconic big game, it is quiet and exclusive since few visitors are permitted to tread or drive here.
Ngare is a snug little camp that hugs the banks of the Mara River. It can only be reached on foot over a narrow rope bridge and is a cosy, intimate place to detach yourself from the modern world. It consists of only four tents and this makes it perfect for hosting a family holiday or gathering a group of friends. The tents are dotted along the riverbank, decked out in style with Zanzibar fourposter beds and open bathrooms overlooking pools filled with pods of hippo – the perfect spot for lounging languidly, soaking up the sights and sounds of the bush from the bathtub built into your veranda decking.
The private conservancy location means you are free to spend the days as you wish walking, fishing and game driving. Each group at Serian has their own private open‐top safari vehicle and their own dedicated guide and spotter giving you the freedom to spend the day as you wish with an experience fully tailored to you. A private treehouse, The Nest, is just a gentle stroll away from camp and makes for an ideal picnic perch or romantic sleep out spot for those looking for a real adventure.
