Colonial Heritage Hotel
The grand ancestral home of one of Kandy’s most influential aristocratic families, Adigar’s Manor sits on six acres in a quiet village area close to Kandy. It is a tastefully decorated, elegant hotel amidst a natural jungle escape.
Adigar’s Manor was restored in a style combining classical Kandyan period architecture with Dutch colonial furnishings and a soft, colourful and elegant finish. All rooms are decorated with period furniture and have ceiling fans and air conditioning. There are en suite bathrooms with showers and double basins.
From the veranda the garden descends to a palm-fringed infinity pool designed in the shape of a traditional paddy field. Large shady verandas, double hammocks and tropical lawns encourage one to find a comfortable and quiet corner to relax or read.
The menu comprises Asian, Western and Sri Lankan specialties and everything is bought fresh from local markets each day. Breakfast and dinner are served on your own verandah or on the dining verandah overlooking the garden. Dinner is always preceded by cocktails in the Butterfly bar on the courtyard because ‘why not’!
