Khayelitshe House

Matobo Hills, Zimbabwe

Home in the wild

Once built as a weekend escape for professional safari guide and African Bush Camps owner, Beks Ndlovu and his family, Khayelitshe House now serves as a beautifully designed home‐away‐from‐home for families and groups on safari in Zimbabwe.

Khayelitshe House is tucked amongst the huge granite boulders of Matobo Hills National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic beauty and deep spiritual resonance – offering unrivalled views whilst effortlessly blending into the dramatic scenery. Fully serviced by a private chef and host, it is stylish and luxurious featuring 4 en‐suite bedrooms, with each room offering sweeping views of the encompassing bird‐filled woodland and rocky landscape. You can expect to find plenty of indoor and outdoor lounging spaces in common areas, sunny and inviting viewing decks as well as a small outdoor pool for cooling down in the heat of the day. Young explorers will delight in the games room and expansive outdoor play area.

Activities are centered around morning and afternoon game drives, walks in the bush with the chance to trek rhino on foot and longer hikes for avid walkers, all of which are conducted in the company of your own private, professional and knowledgeable safari guide. Discover the Khami Ruins, and observe ancient cave paintings up close, all paired with sundowners in the wild.

Khayelitshe House is setting the benchmark in private‐home experiences, providing an idyllic and unsurpassed escape for families and large groups within a serene setting.
