Surrounded by a magnificent landscape of huge trees and floodplains, Tawana Camp is set amid Botswana’s iconic Moremi Game Reserve, in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The camp is entirely unfenced, allowing the wildlife to wander right through the heart of the camp, unhindered. The wilderness surrounds you!
Tawana has eight spacious tents, including three family rooms, each with its own lounge, private terrace, plunge pool and outdoor sala positioned for perfect privacy amid lush riverine forest. Spacious communal areas include an elegant lounge and indoor/outdoor dining spaces complete with a wood-fired pizza oven and walk-in wine cellar. During the warm afternoons, you can take a dip in the 16-metre lap pool or enjoy an in-room spa treatment.
The camp enjoys a beautiful riverside location on the perennial Gomoti River, which delivers water year-round and draws abundant wildlife. High concentrations of large herbivores, antelope and predators (including healthy populations of lion, leopard and African wild dogs) are found in close proximity to the lodge, providing some of the best game-viewing in Botswana. Furthermore, it camp has been built in partnership with Chief Tawana Moremi, the paramount chief of the Batawana tribe, to safeguard this pristine ecosystem for future generations and provide opportunities for his people, many of whom are now expert guides with endless area-specific knowledge.
