Farm House

Ngorongoro Highlands, Tanzania

Colonial Comfort

With its thatched rooves and landscaped lawns, Ngorongoro Farm House brings to mind the colonial farmsteads of the early to mid-1900s. Indeed, ask the staff for a tale and they will delight you with stories of the property’s heritage and the history of agriculture in the highlands. To this day, the farmhouse remains a working coffee plantation and grows the majority of its own organic produce.

52 chalet-style suites are scattered across the property, with a range of options available. Choose from double or twin rooms, four-person suites, or adjoining rooms to offer some privacy and independence for families. Each room features ensuite facilities and room service, allowing you to enjoy an alfresco breakfast or romantic dinner on your private balcony.

Ngorongoro Farm House Lodge serves as a hiatus from the more immersed safari properties. While game drives can be arranged, you are encouraged to wander this expansive property, harvest fresh, organic produce with the house chefs, or explore the process of coffee growing and roasting. You can also join a Maasai guide on a walk on the periphery of the crater, or take a cultural visit to one of the nearby Hadzabe villages. Alternatively, you may wish to indulge and relax in a spa treatment or massage.
