Duke's Camp

Okavango Delta, Botswana

Eccentric Delta Luxe

Duke’s Camp is the latest offering from Ralph Bousfield, the creator the world famous Jack’s Camp. This landmark new offering is named in honour of Sarefo ‘Duke’ Sarefo, who was born 80 years ago on the island that the camp now occupies. His ancestral roots run deep into these sandy soils.

The camp draws inspiration from the crystal-clear channels of the Okavango Delta, which wind sinuously around it. Twelve luxurious safari tents are pitched on raised wooden decks beneath a canopy of ebony and leadwood trees and are bedecked in the signature vintage safari style of Persian rugs, four-poster beds, brass fittings and leather campaign chairs. Each has a private viewing deck from which to observe the wealth of wildlife as it ambles by. The main mess area is an elegant Persian tea-tent, brimming with curiosities and old world glamour. Lavish three course meals, complete with crystal glasses and antique silverware, are served around long tables in the communal dining tent, which invites convivial conversation as guests recount tales from the day.

Activities focus around the prolific wildlife of the Delta and include game drives, boating, fly camping and helicopter excursions to the Tsodilo Hills—a fascinating World heritage Site with over 4,500 individual rock paintings. The guiding is famously top notch across the board.

Boasting generations of heritage, an astonishing wealth of wildlife and some of the best guides in Africa, Duke’s Camp offers serious safari panache in an unfiltered African wilderness.
