Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The camp fronts onto a huge lagoon floodplain and is backed by extensive bush. It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700km² bordering the world famous Moremi Game Reserve.
The nine luxury safari-style tents are built on raised decks, within a grove of ancient ebony trees. The design throughout is modern and spacious featuring raw wood, leather and soft, earthy colour tones. The main area sits in the centre of the camp with a dining area, lounge and curio shop and 2 small pool areas are situated at each end of the camp.
The Kwara area is home to lechwe, sitatunga, crocodiles, elephant, buffalo, sable, zebra, giraffe and tsessebe, and lion, hyena, wild dog, leopard and cheetah are abundant and are regularly seen. Gliding along in the special silence of a mokoro (dug out canoe) you will find yourself eye to eye with thousands of bird species including kingfishers, fish eagles, jacanas and if you’re really fortunate, the elusive Pel’s fishing owl. Along with boating and morning and afternoon game drives, guests have the opportunity to fish (both spinner and fly), take guided walks on the many palm-fringed islands and join a spectacular night drive to spot the region’s elusive nocturnal creatures.
