Zarafa Dhow Suites are an extension of Great Plains Conservation’s Zarafa Camp that have quickly become the ultimate private retreat, offering 2200 sq ft (210m2) of understated opulence in one of Africa’s last great wildernesses – the private 320,000-acre Selinda Reserve.
The Dhow Suites are completely autonomous, having their own staff and catering exclusively for a small intimate group of friends or family. They can accommodate a maximum of four adults and one child plus an additional guide’s tent if required. Comprising two lavish bedrooms on either side of a sumptuous lounge and dining room, as well as a multi-level deck, with a pool, they are spacious and elegant with breathtaking, elevated views out over the Zibadianja Lagoon. Zanzibari doors, open fireplaces and huge copper baths illustrate the careful attention to detail whilst the styling is romantic and elegant, reminiscent of the effortlessly stylish Karen Blixen era.
During your stay you will enjoy early morning and late afternoon game viewing in a private open 4×4 vehicle as well as guided walks if you prefer to immerse yourself in the intimate details of the bush. When water levels permit you may also wish to cruise on the Zibadianja Lagoon on “HMS Zib” and there is an open air gym as well as in-room massages available.
The focus here is entirely on the peaceful tranquility of nature and the revitalizing effect of being in complete harmony with this stunningly beautiful natural environment. It makes for a perfect, classically stylish safari in the truest sense.
