Situated on the ramparts of Essaouira’s medina Dar l’Oussia lies in close proximity to the souks, beach and ancient fishing port. Renovated by the finest craftsmen of Essaouira, Dar L’Oussia offers 20 spacious rooms and four suites. Each room and suite is meticulously decorated and extremely comfortable, and each has its own elegant bathroom. Some rooms are decorated using traditional materials such as tadelakt, marble and zellige (intricate stucco resembling lace).
The riad is built around a large inner courtyard, which gives you an immediate sense of calm and tranquility. The Riad’s interiors are simple, yet tastefully decorated, inviting you to wander around and discover the amenities, be that the hammam or massage room or the lounge or terrace, offering stunning panoramic views of the beach & medina.
The restaurant offers a delightful blend of tastes and spices and on the menu you will find great European and Moroccan classics along with experimental dishes born from the fusion of Moroccan cuisine with various flavors of the world. Local natural products like argan and olive oil and a selection of regional cheeses are emphasized. You may also choose to dine at tables set out in the inner courtyard or on the terrace, while indulging yourself in a beautiful, colorful African sunset. Even though the riad has been fashioned into a spacious, stylish boutique hotel it maintains a simple and natural atmosphere and is the perfect base for exploring the coastal town of Essaouira.
