At the edge of the Sahara, a 19th century Kasbah has been converted into one of the most luxurious residences the desert has ever seen. In this land of a thousand Kasbahs Dar Ahlam literally means “House of Dreams” in Arabic.
Located in an oasis that was once part of a medieval sultan’s hunting ground, it simply oozes a unique class that mixes traditional Moroccan values with French chic. It’s as if you are entering a universe of refined decoration and a meeting of styles. This is thanks to a team of Parisian entrepreneurs lead by Thierry Teyssier who decided to renovate this 19th century Kasbah, and the result is a stunning tour de force that manages to be both modern and traditional at the same time.
The eight suites and three villas are all superbly decorated, spacious and chic in a minimalist style, with sizeable baths in the en suite bathrooms and a sitting room complete with dressing area and open fire.
The main Kasbah is a warren of scented corridors, alcoves and grand archways, very deliberately creating an authentic and discreet atmosphere. A large pool in the garden is complemented by a luxurious hammam, jacuzzi and spa. You will dine on mouth-watering Moroccan cuisine in the location of their desire, be it poolside, on the terrace, or under the shade of some olive trees.
