Mala Mala lies strategically sandwiched between the Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand Reserve. The unfenced borders between the areas allow animals to migrate unhindered to the perennial Sand River which flows north to south through Mala Mala for 20 kilometres.
Rattray’s on Mala Mala offers eight luxury suites which function as inclusive homes, resplendent with hand-selected furnishings, lavish his-and-her bathrooms, a secluded shower, heated plunge pool and private verandah with views across the river.
The central lodge area offers a beautifully appointed library, an African themed air-conditioned dining room, an infinity pool, boutique, small fitness facility, massage service, fully stocked wine-cellar and a large safari deck with magnificent views.
Game drives are conducted in open 4-wheel drive safari vehicles within the 40,000 acre private reserve. Mala Mala is the largest private Big Five game reserve in South Africa and guests staying here can enjoy both day and night game drives and nature walks.
