Classic riverside Luangwa
Nsefu Camp is perched on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River in the remote Nsefu Sector of the South Luangwa National Park. It is famous for its concentrations of plains game, which in turn attract predators, especially huge herds of buffalo that move around in the area.The view of the river here is superb and includes a terraced area where game grazes during the day.
The bar and sitting room overlook a waterhole that is very productive for game, especially seeing leopards at night. Wallowing warthogs and buffalo are frequent visitors and families of elephant will often come down to drink and bathe in the river.
Each rondavel is thatched with a wooden verandah that offers great views across the river. The camp lies in the heart of the undeveloped Nsefu sector delivering “understated elegance” in total seclusion.
During your stay you have the opportunity to drive or walk through the ebony groves or, depending on the heat and time of year, to explore a variety of habitats further afield with your guide and a picnic lunch. Night drives are also on offer here and are a unique way to see the lesser-seen nocturnal species such as genet and bush-baby.
