Chongwe River House is situated near the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers, directly opposite Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools. The Chongwe River is the boundary of the Lower Zambezi National Park. This quirky private villa is nestled amongst shady Acacia Albida trees overlooking the Chongwe River andagainst a stunning backdrop of the Zambezi River Valley Escarpment.
The Villa accommodates eight guests in stunning en suite rooms, all with views across the river and the river valley. The main dining and sitting area is spacious and comfortable and suits a private party perfectly. The pool is also a feature and is a welcome relief after hot outings into the Lower Zambezi National Park.
There is so much to do when staying at the Chongwe River House. The game viewing in the area is exceptional, and few other places can give you the choice of game drives in open safari vehicles, guided walking, canoeing or motor boating. Fishing is also a popular option and when the season is right, some of the largest Tiger Fish can be caught. A stay for a few days is necessary so that one can take advantage of all the wonderful adventurous activities on offer.
Both day and night drives are also available and groups can plan their activities around their preferences. Walking adds an extra dimension to your game viewing, and also gives the chance to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of the bush.
