Recalling an era of luxury and quality, Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp returns guests to the original spirit and essence of a ‘safari’. It is reminiscent of the golden age of romance, professional guiding, adventure and elegance, in a timelessly unspoiled setting with panoramic views and boundless game.
Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp is situated in an extensive & exclusive concession between the Masai Mara, Serengeti and Loliondo reserves where a few Purko Masai clans roam. This area has been untouched by any kind of tourism or development and offers the discerning client a guarantee of privacy.
The camp consists of five huge en-suite tents perfect for couples or honeymooners and four luxury suites which have been created by connecting two tents with a shared luxury lounge area – ideal for families or friends travelling together. The authentic white canvas tents are spacious, luxuriously furnished & incorporate original safari antiques from the 1920’s.
Guest activities include game drives in either modern four wheel drive vehicles, in their authentic, old wooden car or aboard their oxen pulled wagon. The concession is outside the game parks, and thus offers guided walking and night drives. By walking, one can get that much closer to nature. The Masai Mara has the highest density of game on the continent of Africa so the animal viewing is amazing year round from Cottar’s.
