Located just 15 minutes from the Kisli entrance of the Kanha National Park, the Flame of the Forest Safari Lodge, is a small intimate hideaway nestling on the banks of the Banjar river, offering stunning views over the river and dense forest.
The Flame of the Forest has only 4 luxury cottages, built and designed to reflect the local architecture, all with tastefully done interiors and spacious, modern bathrooms. The outside day bed, or Machan as it is locally called, is a relaxing place for an afternoon nap or for a night under the stars.
The dining area is a lofty and elegant space, however, most of the meals are served out in the green, under a tree, beside the river or under the moonlit sky. The kitchen is provided with vegetables sourced from their own garden, local markets, fresh river fish from the Narmada river and recipes from Grandmothers, mothers and sisters kitchens. The Flame of the Forest Safari lodge is owned and managed by Karan Modi, himself an expert Naturalist, and his Swiss wife Isa.
