Located about an hours’ drive from Guayaquil, nestled between the coast and the Andes, Hacienda la Danesa is a traditional dairy and cacao farm with over 145 years of rich heritage and history.
Accommodation is spread across a range of garden cottages, converted stables and heritage bedrooms within the original farmhouse. All are cosy and intimate, styled with rustic timber and tactile stonework, but softened with luxurious linens and warm colour palettes. Some have private verandas from which to enjoy beautiful views to the lush fields, and most have their own entrances which adds to the feeling of privacy and seclusion.
The culinary experiences range from the simple to the sublime. There are a variety of private dining options in stunning pop up locations, whilst daily meals are enjoyed on the teak terrace. Here, locally harvested tropical fruits and vegetables, whether from the hacienda’s own gardens or from the nearby community market, are crafted into gastronomic menus which showcase the land’s produce aligning beautifully with Ecuadorian cultural influence.
Whatever your interests or energy levels, there are plenty of activities on offer throughout the day such as horse riding, river tubing, milking the cows, or perhaps attending a chocolate and cacao workshop.
