Across the Andes
Atacama to Salta & Iguazu
Atacama Deserts to Argentine Estancias
Commence your journey at Alto Atacama in the Atacama Desert. Surrounded by the Cordillera del la Sal and in the shadow of the Pucara de Quitor ruins, the lodge offers one of the most breath-taking settings in the world. Here and over the next four nights enjoy excursions such as in the Atacama Salt Flat, in the Salt Mountain Range, in the Sarapana Mountain Range and in the Andes Mountain Range. You may choose to visit the Valley of the Moon, the El Tatio geysers, the High Andean Lagoons or explore rock art – the choice is yours!
A three-hour road transfer passing by incredible landscapes brings you to the tranquil village of Purmamarca, where you have another two nights to explore. Check in to El Manantial del Silencio, a relatively new establishment with architecture prevalent of local traditions, and admire the simplicity yet glorious setting that you are in. Purmamarca is a great base for you to explore the nearby Quebrada de Humahuaca Valley, a World Heritage Site.
Continue two hours to Salta for another two-night stay at Estancia El Bordo de las Lanzas, a rustic working estancia which dates back to 1609! Make the most of enjoying and appreciating the best of gaucho life, tradition and craftmanship. You may choose during your stay to get involved and join the gauchos as they undertake their daily farm work, cattle musters and ride the property’s Peruano Argentino de Paso horses. You can also explore the countryside by bike or on foot, do some birdwatching or perhaps visit the yacare-caiman reserve.
Possibly a bucket-list experience – make your way to Iguazu and enjoy the power of its mighty falls! Spend two nights at the Melia Iguazu, the only property on the Argentine-side within the premises of the Iguazu National Park, and with a breath-taking view of the Devil’s Throat, the largest and most spectacular fall.

We wanted the opportunity to see as many wildlife parks as possible and the Classic Safari Company provided an action-packed itinerary that included six, with 11 tiger sightings and nine leopard. This was overlaid with an introduction to Jaisalmer, Jaipur and the 'real' India. Pench and Panna were the hidden gems of a really great trip, very well organised, seamless and enjoyable. As a solo traveller I felt incredibly safe at all times. I want to go back!
Mark Taylor
Exellent and wonderful, reaching way above expectations.
