Giraffe Manor

Nairobi, Kenya

Historic luxury manorhouse

There are not many places in Africa that can claim true international celebrity. Giraffe Manor can. Since its founders, Jock and Betty Leslie-Melville, rescued a baby giraffe named Daisy from a heavily-poached area of western Kenya in 1974, their home has become a household name.

Set in 120 acres of untouched indigenous forest 20kms from Nairobi, Giraffe Manor is a world away from the bustle of the city – the perfect location for unwinding after your arrival, or for collecting your uplifted thoughts before bidding ‘kwaheri’ to this magical land.

Giraffe Manor offers you an unparalleled experience of the giraffes, with them vying for your attention at the breakfast table, the front door and even your bedroom window.

Inspired by the Manor’s original 1930’s décor the 10 luxury double en suite bedrooms have been designed with large four poster beds, antique furnishing, striking art decor and spacious bathrooms. One of the main bedrooms boasts the original furniture of Karen Blixen’s guestroom, and is hung with exquisite wildlife paintings by her famous cook Kamante.

Included in your stay is admission to the world-famous Giraffe Centre next door. Other natural attractions are the Karen Blixen’s farmhouse and famous Daphne Sheldrick elephant orphanage.
