Sol Y Luna

Sacred Valley, Peru

A harmonious blend of luxury and authenticity

Hotel Sol y Luna is located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, just moments away from the important archaeological sites of Moray, Ollantaytambo and Pisac. It was originally founded to fund a local school, and still shows tireless commitment to assisting the local community through the Sol Y Luna Foundation.

As a Relais & Chateaux property it offers exceptional service, chic styling and exquisite dining, but retains its rustic charm to offer a harmonious blend of luxury and authenticity. Surrounded by tall eucalyptus trees and dramatic mountains, the 28 ’casitas’ (bungalows) are set among flower-filled gardens and are decorated in traditional Andean style. They feature hand-turned wooden furniture and Peruvian works of art alongside marble bathrooms and oversized beds dressed in luxurious linens. Each bungalow has a small private veranda and some boast Jacuzzis with views over the Sacred Valley. There is a cosy bar and restaurant serving local and international cuisine of the highest standard, designed to reflect the advanced farming methods of the Inca people and mirror the changing seasons. Facilities also include a small swimming pool, gym and spa.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a beautiful stretch of small villages and ancient ruins spread across a broad plain and rugged mountain slopes. You can explore the area on foot, on horseback or by bike, quadbike or kayak. A gastronomy class with Sol Y Luna’s chef will awaken your tastebuds and paragliding over the Andes will take your breath away.

Hotel Sol y Luna is an exquisite and unique hideaway from which to explore the villages and ruins of the Sacred Valley.

The Sol Y Luna Foundation

The Sol y Luna Foundation is a registered charity based in Urubamba in Peru’s Sacred Valley that is dedicated to supporting children born into extreme poverty by providing them with education, care and opportunities for a better future.

It was founded in 1998 by Petit Miribel and her husband Franz, and operates a range of programmes including the Sol y Luna Intercultural School, a centre for children with special needs called Paqari, the Sol y Luna Home for children who’ve experienced abuse or abandonment, and the Roots & Wings further-education support programme. The foundation focuses on inclusion, offering scholarships, healthy meals, psychological support and life skills, helping children from the poorest communities to learn, grow and thrive.
