Casa Turequesa occupies a restored historic mansion with a faithfully recreated 18th century façade. With just nine spacious suites the property ensures an ambience of warmth and intimacy. Wide windows and sweeping balconies beautifully frame views of the inner courtyard, Paraty Bay, the tiled rooftops and mountains, or the dome of the Santa Rita Church. Warm colours and natural materials like wood and stone bring a sense of coziness to each of the guestrooms. The hotel’s common areas include a spacious living room, a boutique and a library, complete with fireplace to gather around on colder days. Just outside is the courtyard enclosed by a garden dotted with orchids and a small whirlpool to relax in and a charming gazebo which is perfect for enjoying a drink or getting a massage.
Set amidst jutting peninsulas and secluded beaches with a jungle backdrop, Paraty is one of Brazil’s prettiest cities. Founded in 1650, this colonial gem, with its cobbled streets and centuries-old buildings is a well preserved example of Portuguese architecture and the entire city has the status of UNESCO heritage listed monument. Paraty is the perfect place to wander aimlessly and enjoy the picturesque views of the town’s setting.
