Century old hacienda in the highlands
Located between 2,870 and 3,050 metres above sea level in the Andean highlands of Northern Ecuador, Hacienda Zuleta is blessed with equatorial temperatures year round.
Zuleta is a colonial working farm of 4,000 acres that belongs to the family of Mr. Galo Plaza lasso, a former president of Ecuador, for more than 100 years. The hacienda has 14 beautifully decorated bedrooms, all with their own fireplace, antique gardens along with cozy living and reading rooms. Delicious home Ecuadorian cuisine among other types of gastronomic adventures are offered daily.
Hacienda Zuleta offers a great variety of activities and places to visit. With horseback riding being the specialty, guests can also enjoy mountain bike riding, horse drawn carriage trips on the hacienda grounds to observe the milking, the agriculture, mountain views and the tranquil life of the community. Guests can also visit the Condor Andes rehabilitation program that works to rehabilitate the majestic Andean Condor.
