Mboko Lodge

Odzala-Kokoua National Park, Republic of Congo

Comfort in the clearing

Mboko Lodge is set within Odzala-Kokoua National Park, which spans an impressive 13,600 km² and forms a vital part of both the greater Congo Basin and the visionary TRIDOM Transfrontier Park—an interconnected conservation area linking national parks in Gabon, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Built along the banks of a free-flowing tributary of the Lekoli River, with views over wildlife-rich savannah and deep forest, the lodge offers a unique and immersive safari experience at the meeting point of several untouched ecosystems.

Guests are accommodated in just six simple yet comfortable canvas cabins, each featuring rustic décor, four-poster beds, en suite bathrooms, and private decks. Positioned just above the river, the cabins allow you to fall asleep to the soothing sound of flowing water. The spacious main lodge includes a dining area, lounge, bar, and star deck—all overlooking the open grasslands.

Activities are centred on exploring the pristine wilderness, with a mix of walking, boating, kayaking, cycling, and 4×4 game drives. Accompanied by expert guides, you may encounter forest buffalo, forest elephants, spotted hyenas, bongo, red river hogs, and western sitatunga, along with a wide variety of primates—occasionally including chimpanzees. Birdlife, seasonal butterflies, and wildflowers are seen in abundance, and the stargazing is truly spectacular.

Few have explored the remote wilderness around Mboko Lodge, making it a rare and exciting opportunity to discover extraordinary biodiversity while enjoying the comfort of a top-notch lodge.
