One of Africa’s best kept secrets, Singita Pamushana is located in the heart of the 100,000-acre Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, in the remote south eastern corner of Zimbabwe. Perched atop a sandstone ridge overlooking the shimmering Malilangwe Dam and the lush mopane forests beyond, it celebrates the abundance of the surrounding nature and maximizes its exclusive isolation.
Singita Pamushana’s design–led architecture features thick walls, meticulous thatching and detailed stonework offset by bold interiors, raw timbers, leather and opulent metallics. Soft earthy hues paired with carefully selected pieces of traditional furniture, local art and antiques retain a sense of stylish authenticity. There are four 1-bedroom suites, each with a private plunge pool, as well as a choice of 2, 3 and 5-bedroom villas which are perfect for families or friends. The main lodge offers a dining room, three separate lounges and an extensive wine cellar as well as two heated swimming pools, a spa and Jacuzzi. In true Singita style, the level of luxury pays no regard to the remote location of the lodge.
All game drives takes place with professional guides and trackers in state-of-the-art Land Rovers and you are likely to spot wildlife including sable, cheetah, wild dog, lion, leopard, elephant and rhino. Guided walking safaris are highly recommended, as are visits to the ancient nearby San Bushmen rock art. Singita works closely with the Malilangwe Trust, which promotes community and conservation initiatives, and you are welcome to visit the local village to experience the local Shangaan culture and see the trust in action.
