Walk about a working tea estate at Ndali Lodge

Ndali Lodge

Kibale National Park, Uganda

Views from a volcano

Perched on the rim of an extinct volcano, overlooking a flooded caldera, Ndali Lodge is set on a working tea estate close to Kibale Forest. The lodge is run by Aubrey Price and the estate has been in his family for over 90 years.

Built of local stone and thatch, the eight stylish and comfortable en-suite cottages afford panoramic views of the dramatic Rwenzori Mountains, and the dining room and lounge offer an English country house atmosphere in an African setting. Al fresco breakfasts afford fabulous views of the caldera lake below, whilst in the evening fires are lit indoors and lighting is provided by candles & paraffin lamps, with solar powered lights in the cottages.

Ndali is a great base to track the chimpanzees of Kibale Forest ‐ under an hours drive from the lodge. The nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is also well worth a visit whilst the lodge offers boating & swimming in the lake, a visit to the nearby vanilla factory or a walk through one of the surrounding tea estates. As longstanding supporters of the local community you also have the opportunity to visit a local school. Or you can simply sit back, relax by the pool and marvel at the incredible birdlife and incomparable views.
