Gorge Lodge

Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda

Endless views

Kyambura Lodge is situated at the eastern side of Queen Elizabeth National Park, in the great East African Rift Valley, with fantastic views over the national park and the Rwenzori Mountains and close to Kyambura Gorge.

The lodge has been built using environmentally friendly local materials fitted by a local community workmanship. Accommodation is provided in seven spacious and tastefully designed self contained grass-thatched cottages with private bathrooms and a wooden balcony perched over Queen Elizabeth National Park. There is a swimming pool, adjacent to the campfire, where traditional dancing is often performed by the Banyaruguru tribe. The restaurant and the lounge/bar open onto a sun-downer deck overlooking the park and a great place for relaxing or winding up the day’s activities. The kitchen features international and local cuisine, and meals are mainly prepared with organic vegetables from the lodge’s own garden.

Queen Elizabeth National Park hosts almost 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species making this superb safari territory, whilst Kyambura Gorge harbours habituated chimpanzees and treks there are a highlight.
